I'm SherryT, sometimes known as Tree Lady, Sherry Thompson, Khiva's Mommy and "that strange woman on the second floor". I'm technically retired and rapidly approaching my seventies.
Technically retired? Well, I spent thirty-five years working at an academic library, with the occasional part-time guest appearance at our public library.
I began writing my first fantasy novel back in 1979 and never stopped adding to my Narenta fantasy "universe" until... Well, until right now. And tomorrow. And...
In 2000, I retired from my fulltime job to focus on revising several manuscripts set in the world of Narenta. Seabird (The Narenta Tumults #1) was first published in 2008, and Earthbow (The Narenta Tumults #2) in 2010.
If you want to learn more about what was going on in my second career between 1979 and 2008, visit the page Persistence + Networking = Publication (sometimes) at my website, "The Scroll Chamber".
I love Ocean City on the shore of New Jersey, where I spent two weeks on vacation in mid-June. It was beyond wonderful! Guaranteed, you'll be OCNJ photo & word-bombed soon & frequently.
I have two cats named Khiva (long "i") and Vartha.
I enjoy---
Folk music, filk music, world music & various songs of faith.
Many kinds of food I shouldn't eat. And a couple that doctors say we should--like dark chocolate and red wine. Let's hear it for the medical profession!
Virtually every book written by the Inklings, especially C. S. Lewis, JRR Tolkien, Charles Williams, the "proto-inkling" George MacDonald, and like that.
Art & photography.
A very few TV shows. At the moment these would be Person of Interest, Elementary, Unforgettable, CSI, The Good Wife, Extant. And others once I've had a chance to think about it.
Unlike, 90 per cent of the U.S. viewing population, I do not like reality shows. Shrug. Well, nobody's perfect.
So many films, I'm not about to offer sample titles. If you're curious just click on my profile avatar.
Relaxed wandering conversations. Chattering with virtually anyone I meet if they say so much as a peep to me, and then hold still long enough for me to respond.
All for now! I hope you leave a comment. Actually I hope you find a way to leave a comment. That should be an automatic feature, right? blush
Under the Mercy,
SherryT, full-time cat masseuse & part-time writer.
